Hey guys, i've just started learning how to improvise and i need some tunes to jam to. Now rather than go through all of my songs and look for songs that are in the key of A, or B or C etc.. was wondering if off the top of your head you guys knew of any songs in any key, it'd be great if you could post it here.
I'm sure lots of people would (including me =) ) appreciate it so yeah..
Songs in key of A
Songs in key of B
etc..

no he means record a progession in which ever key you want.. Then you'll have something to improvise over, just keep playing and improvsing over it, if you get bored of the tune, change the key or use different chords.. I really does help, and it's better if you figure out how to make up the progession yourself that way you'll understand bothsides..

~ = Vibrato s = slide h = hammer on p = pull off
I used the pentatonic scale I hope I gave you an idea but to me it sounds good. Other than that you might wanna play in 2 octaves (1-12 frets and 12-24 make sure you play some notes from the chord to be in somewhat rythm for the chords.

If you are interested in jamming, I would suggest making a tape of some simple progressions. You could jam over a I-IV-V-I progression for starters, or even a I-vi-ii-V-I. When playing the chord progression, play around the circle of fifths. This way you are widening your playing ability to include keys that will make many guitarists shudder, like A-flat Major, or basically any of the flat keys. Start in C, go to G, then to D, then to A etc.......
This will take awhile to come up with solo ideas, but if you are able to create a nice lick, or riff in one key; it is in your best interest to play that lick or riff in other keys as well. In reality, you will probably never play in all twelve of the keys in your life time, but by practicing in all keys, you will become more and more familiar with the fretboard.
