Hello. I'm wondering if anyone knows of any specific examples of out of phase pickup wiring.

Is the solo from Steely Dan's "Do It Again" an example? How about some Zappa solos?

No newer stuff, please. I'm not very familiar with modern guitar folk.

Thanks. I'm looking for a specific tone. I think it can be accomplished by wiring up my strat out of phase.:)

Hey, I don't know any specific songs that have guitars that are wired out of phase... I'm sure you know that out of phase just causes the pickups to cancel some of eachother's frequencies out. Producing a more mellow tone. I would say wire a dual humbucker guitar like the Jimmy Page signature Les Paul. It has 4 push/pull knobs so you can choose in phase, out of phase, series, parallel, and tapped or humbucker. This is a VERY confusing wiring, but it is extremely versitale and fun to play with. With a guitar wired like that, you can see if that tone you are looking for is in or out of phase, series or parallel, etc.

That tone you are looking for may simply be parallel wiring too. That also creates that more mellow tone.
