Hi All.

New bass player here. I've noticed an annoying trend of my bass strings buzzing when I am picking up my fingers to change notes. Any advice?

I have this problem too but I fixed it. I used that finger shape thingy... I don't know what it's called. On your right hand, put your pinky on the E string, ring on the A, middle on the D and index on the G and play like that. I am not saying you use your pinky when you play the E string, but when you play the E string, move your right hand so your index is touching the E string. When you go to the G string, do the first formation I told you. Anyways, this should help you mute the strings when you are done playing a note because when you lift your finger while the string is still vibrating, you get the buzzing sound...

Why do I have a feeling that I am just muttering gibberish?

sounds to me like the neck maybe out of adjustment. strings may be to high off the fretboard. also try to finger the note closer to the forward fret instead of between the frets you'll get a cleaner sound
