I have an envoy 110 peavey transtube guitar amp,and the volume controles are doing what I call "shorting" In witch what it is doing is the volume cuts out,and I have to "mess" with it to get sound and volume, but it has now gotten to the point that I get sound and volume after messing with it and then in the middle of playing it totally cuts out giving no sound. It has basically become undependable to try to play.Is there any way I can fix this problem myself? If not i'm going to have to start pawning my non musical belongings to get this fixed in a shop, witch is going to suck cause pawnshops are ripp offs. Please let me know.

All I can say is I don't know, but that happens to me with my old practice combo. I'm not sure what it is, but I got a new amp... so yeah =|

My amp used to cut out suddenly too. First I replaced the amp, but then that cut out too. I then opened up my guitar, cleaned out the electronics cause I thought maybe some dust got in one of the connections, but that didn't work either. It finally stopped when I bought a new cable. I don't know if that's your problem, but you might want to try it.

If your volume pots are intermitent maybee they are dirty and require a clean you can get a can of elecronic cleaning stuff from a good electronic / computer store can not for the life of me remember what you call it but anyway just ask in store and they will help you out
What you do is spray this stuff behind your knobs and it cleans away any dust that is making the contacts dirty
mine doesnt cut out, the volume just ...lowers by say a 1/4 of what it used to be?
whats the problem there? any ideas? i mean imagine youre at a gig an that happens..:'(
