What does a chorus pedal do and what are some good chorus pedals for bass?

A chorus pedal allows you to add a short delay to your signal. The delayed signal is modulated in and out of tune and then mixed back with the original signal to create a thicker sound, and stereo image. Bassically it sounds like you have an accompanying bassist playing the same tune with you.
