I'm trying to decide on a genre of music to play and i have a question. I know a lot of people in here dont like straight pop-country music, but would you be interested in hearing a group with a country/southern rock type feel?

Yeah....

I even listen to some of the old piano stuff (mozart) just because some of it is just so amazingly musically pleasing its not even funny.....

So do whatever floats your boat...if its good music people will like it no matter what :)

Hell yeah. That'd be way better than all of these modern whatever you call them bands where they all sing like constipated yaks!!

I hate all that bland,mono-tone crap that passes for music nowdays.
IT'S BORING !!!!!!!! (go back to Seattle ya bums)

I'd rather listen to straight country than some of it it's so bad.

I hate all this grunge and nu metal and emo and whatver metal and weenie pop-punk like Simple Plan.

I'd like to drop a piano on all of them and then play that piano,boogie-style on their rotting corpses. :D

What the hell ever happened to music?

rock on....

If you can DO southern rock then all the power to ya. I have seen a lot who TRY southern rock and just come out sounding like modern country.

Skynyrd, Allman Brothers, Molly Hatchet, .38 Special.. all good, no.. all great!!

I've always been interested in country, has some fairly catchy licks. I think mixing it with rock would be awesome.

P.S (Add in some blues! :D )

That has been done by many bands going back to the 60's. Bands like Allman Brothers, The Byrds and The Grateful Dead etc...Country Rock some say started when Dylan played Electric at the Newport Folk Festival. But The Byrds, Bufferlo Springfield, Gram Parsons and The Blue Things and any number of upcoming San Francisco bands such as Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Moby Grape etc..all perfected that sound of Country Rock with alot of Blues influences. With the Grateful Dead they combined all that with the live improvisation of jazz...A mix that made them an amazing live band.

So like most things it's all been done before and more often than not alot better too!

Ask MTV, they're the ones destroying it. I got this male friend and he shouted,"Arvil Lavigne Rocks!" I was so damn embarrass. I had to rebuke him in the class. My inner self must be let out and let him know that Arvil lavigne is a useless media whore who wears eye-liners with baggy pants. And he say she is rich therefore she is good. My God!!! Look what has MTV done to our fellow people!!! MTV does not come in peace, fight for our freedom to real rock!

I'd like to add The Eagles to that list for country rock.

Scotty Moore was a country session musician and was one of the people responsible for the sound of rock and roll right from the start.

I think The Eagles are like The Beatles of country rock.
