It seems practically impossible to turn POP into some heavy metal song...ill just go watch some Mtv and pick out a few songs that might be suitable for your project..then u can choose what you like :)

DON'T SACRIFICE YOURSELF!!!!! =]
Try some of the newer stuff thats coming out, its sort of a mixture of the pop world mixed with dance. They usually have pretty good driving bass going, but might be a little too fast. And remember, you'll be playing in a major key... sooo its gunna be pretty hard. Maybe finding a pop song in a minor key would be better (is there ever a pop song in a minor key?????)

I vote for Madonna's "Material Girl", Michael Jackson's "Thriller" or Cindy Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun"! :D

I like the sound of Madona maybee she could record it herself she is playing on a Gibson these days:~)
Anyway how about Tragedy (Steps / Bee Gees)
haahh!!!
all i can say is...
as soon as the singer says tragedy in the deep...deep mumbly voice ill stop playing, drop on the floor and start laughing like a little girl....!
if it works, itll be so amazingly cool!
how about keeping the pop lyrics? and BITS of the song?
adding little bits of solos all over the place!
i well wanna try tragedy tho!
hahaha!

Baby One More Time by Brittany Spears.
Travis used to do it live at festivals and stuff and made it sound half decent. I can imagine it sounding O.K with some distorted palm muted power chords and a shouty vioce.
yea britney spears did come to mind but we dont look the part...
and besides, thats been done by metallica as well, so we want
something that people go...woah...i know that song.....
yknow...but..theyll want more!!
and also!
do any of you know how to lose a beer belly!
im so unfit!
hehehe
if im going to play a britney song id like to look the part at the very least ;)

I know what you mean about looking the part - a Brittany Spears song demands that kind of dedication:D
You could try Saturday Night by Wigfield, its got a strong bass line and you could replace the "dum di di dum, di di dum di dum di dum" part with a guitar solo.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN REPLACE THAT DA DA DI DUM BIT!
are you crazy!
thats the best part lol!!!
:D thats a wickid idea:>
hehehe...ahhhhh....this will so so so work!
thanks guys!

ways to get rid of a beer belly
1. Stop practicing guitar and do exercise (but who wants to stop practicing guitar?)
2. go hollywood styles and get liposuction (spelling?)
3. wear REALLY baggy clothes, lol
