My favourites are grunge and plain rock, although there hard, most of the time.

Blues, first and foremost, then maybe funk and classic rock, then just making a lot of noise with random power chords and stupid penatonic solos, whatever you want to call that.

Those styles are alot more fun to play than Punk stuff, IMO.

Any style I can wrap my brain around.

Punk is okay, everyone keeps ripping on it but they should really separate it from mtv.Mtv is just awful.

Not every solo is based on pentatonic. Anyways I like to play Blues and Metal.

I didn't say they are. I said "then just making a lot of noise with random power chords and stupid penatonic solos, whatever you want to call that." In no way did I say that all solos are penatonic.

Geezel, some of you people need to read a little before you write something.

Still... your saying that playing power chords is stupid and pentatonic scales solos are stupid. Yet the greatest players have used both in many ways. :-P

i dont mean to speak for him but i think he means that most solos are pentatonic and there are a lot of power chords in metal.. so if someone does that they think they are cool

my real style is everywhere(hard to explain), but to answer the question, i love playing the blues or throwing down some massive power chords.

xxjohnboy

changes all the times. never country though. I actually like just jamming over whatever comes on my playlist. techno, rap, metal whatever. other times i like to just chill out with the classical guitar. depends on my mood i guess.

Like the great Bruce Lee said: "I am every style, yet I am no style."

Well, at least thats my goal, not to have a style, but make one.

I actually like playing anything that grabs me... mostly classic rock and 80'/early 90's metal but really anything that is fun to play ..

and sorry but..

I guess my favorite style to play would be "adult alternative,"

That sounds more like a movie category (ahem) than a music style.

Yeah, it does but it is how the bands are categorized, I'm not the one who came up with it.

kirk_ham
02-22-2004, 05:16 AM
metal stuff is nice coz its fast and well played with distortion and good solos and heavy riffs.
I play anything that i like really, but it has to be challenging for me else i wont bother.
i only play most of the time with the idea of improving
