You mean when you plug the cable into the guitar it buzzes? First of all this should not be done with the amp on, it's not good on it. If you have a tube amp, put it into standby and plug in or unplug the guitar.
The acoustic/electric problem, try turning any gain controls you have down, and the volume on the guitar. What you described sounds like you are overdriving the input stage of the guitar amp.

I got a crate, it constantly has a "speaker" sound if you know what I mean. That sound you get if you put a blank cassette in a player and put it on high.
But it doesn't really get too annoying.
It only is there if the cable is plugged in.

That's becuse the crates have a "standby" mode where if you unplug the cable it shuts off the preamp or something. It's a lot more silent when theres no cable.

Ah cool, I had no idea. I really need to learn more about the parts of the guitar and accessories.

Just read tech articles in guitarworld, on here, anywhere that talks about the pieces parts of a guitar and amp. Tinkering also helps you learn. My first experience with learning the parts of my guitar was when my first electric died, so I had to open it up and resolder. I was 10 at the time... I got it working.

Ive actually been looking for a site that explains the guitar + accessory parts for a while.
I really couldn't find it on Guitar World or here.... and I didn't do a quick 3 minute check.
Could you please show me an exact link or how to get to that part of the sites?
Thanks

I learned in a similar way, my dad took apart his dead Vox AC30 to repair it when I was 12 and showed me the diferent parts of it, I recently did it to a 10 watt Squire amp for fun, very cool way to learn. :)
I suggest you try a similar hands on approach, go to a pawn shop or similar place and get the cheapest POS guitar and amp you can find to take apart and learn from. It doesn't matter about reading up, once you've seen for yourself you'll know more than any book or site can tell you, and if you're still not sure what something is you may as well ask here.

Well I was talking about in the actual guitarworld magazines. They have a tech corner or whatever it's called. I don't know of any sites... you just have to find literature on amps and stuff and absorb and put it all together.
