Some of you may have previously Read that im completly redoing a guitar. Now before I get my paint job, I am thinking of installing a tremolo, This guitar never had one before. Would it be hard to cut out & router a place for one? Has anyone done it? How did it turn out? Are there any good instructions out there for one? Please help

I have done it.... it can be quite tricky, I would recommend getting a pro to do it... you will need to have the nut and machineheads on so the intonation can be set correctly. I would have it put on before I began the finishing process, so the slot for the bridge and the hollow for the springs can get sealed when you finish it. this may be a job you want to tackle yourself but keep in mind... it's harder than you think.

Yeah, putting a trem on a guitar that does not have one to start out is very difficult. And it would be fairly expensive to do. It's not worth putting that much money into a guitar. I would just get a guitar that comes with a trem, and maybe upgrade it if you wish. eg. guitar comes with floyd rose licensed and you put on a floyd rose original.

Thanks, I think I am going to hold back on putting one on for right now.
