Hi,
Just finished the bluesy Hear My T A Comin' Intro by Hendrix. Am now into doing the meat of the song. Just love the way it sounds.
Any suggestions on more songs for practice... like this one ---acoustic, bluesy and chordal (ie 2-3 notes played at one time) --- are welcome.
Thanks

What version of it are you learning?
I'll try to think of some others...

Ah that version is from the album/movie soundtrack called "Soundtrack Recordings".The whole album is Hendrix playing a 12 string.
Here's the songs that are on it:
Rock Me Baby
Wild Thing
Machine Gun I
Johnny B. Goode
Hey Joe
Purple Haze
Like A Rolling Stone
The Star Spangled Banner
Machine Gun II
Hear My Train A-Comin'
Red House
In From The Storm.

Really? He did a whole album on that acoustic? I love that version of Hear My... but thought it was the only one on 12 string. I'll have to get that album but I'm a big Hendrix fan and have never seen or heard of it. Is it still available to buy?
I've got that version on the Blues album. It does sound good, and pretty easy to play. It's tuned down 2 whole steps so can be a bit difficult to pick out notes by ear if you play in standard tuning.

Wait I think you're right.I must've had a brainfart.
Now that I think about it most of them aren't acoustic.
There may be more than just Hear My Train though but I'm
not sure, can't remember.Haven't heard that album since about the early or mid 80's or so...I've even seen the movie, sheesh!
The album is all full of narrative and interviews between songs and stuff.
Ah well,my memory is burnt...the 70's were a wild ride. :D
