The Line 6 POD 2.0 is showing a list price of $519.99 with MusiciansFriend.com. They are currently selling it for $349.99 with a $100 rebate, making it $249.99. This item is featured on the front page of CyberFret.

The Line 6 POD Pro Modeler is showing a list price of $899.99 with MusiciansFriend.com. They are currently selling it for $599.99. There is not currently a rebate being offered with this item.

If you are interested in the 2.0, $249 is a really good price!:p

I actually Just got the POD 2.0 friday. It is still suprising me with its effects, amp models, and cabs. It takes a lot of tweaking to get it to sound just the way you like. But, once you get that sound... it's f**kin awesome!

The POD pro is for people with lots of digital components and really complex studios. It's also rackmount, so if you're making a rack to sit on top of a cab, the POD Pro would be great. I was considering this, but I didn't see any huge advantage for me to spend 600 bucks rather than 250... I think the POD Pro is a little over-priced... but what can ya do.

I haven't been playing long so i don't know anything about the POD. Could someone describe to me what it is, and does.. please.
Do you hook it up to a cabinet or what? I'm confused.

All the POD is, is an effects processor... A REALLY good one! It is an amp simulator. It can sound like anything from a classic marshall to a modern mesa/boogie. What you connect to the POD is an amp or plug it directly into a mixing board/recorder. I use the POD as my 'amp.' I am getting a reference amp to power my 4x12 marshall cabinet. You can run the POD into a guitar amp, but it really doesn't work well. It is better to get a power amp and a guitar cabinet.

The POD was designed for direct recording. You plug the POD into the board and there's no need for a guitar amp to mic. What's really cool is the POD has cabinet simulation. So you can make it sound you have a Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier head running into a vintage Marshall cabinet. It's really cool. There are also various effects in the POD. They aren't anything special. Trying one out if you can.
