I've got a nice acoustic yamaha guitar here. The problem is it has some kind of dry buzz going on, and its comming from the saddle. If I put my hand on the saddle and push it down just a little bit, then the guitar doesnt buzz at all! From what I can see the saddle isnt loose or anything,,,any thoughts at all and I would be eternally grateful! :D
ok
my guitar did this too.
maybe your action is to low or the strings are too light.
you could try spraying the inside of the guitar with furniture polish and take the saddle out and the bridge pins and spray them too.
spray everything for good measure.
Good luck
Nick.

this guy posted in 2 places
Like I said before your string probably isn't sitting flush with the saddle
and aparantly its not good to use furniture polish on your guitar. its too harsh or thick or something or other, its best to buy guitar polish

Does this problem occur all the time, or only when you strike a certain note on a certain string?
On my six string acoustic, if I strike the note of B (7th fret) on the sixth string, the fourth string open will rattle, sounding similar to what you describe. If this is the case for you, it is a "sympathetic resonance" between the two strings at a certain fret. Many guitars have these quirks.

Hmm, well an open G buzzes and the heavier strings on some tones, not all though.
well....the furniture polish is to lubricate the parts. which may be loose and vibrating.
when my guitar 'buzzed' i took it back to the shop and they to use their words 'put some cream down the bridge pin holes'
so i always give them a quick spray when i change my strings.
and it seems to stop the buzzing.
i use furniture polish because it said on the can 'for all types of wood. '
and i havent got any guitar polish! LOL
Nick.
