ok now ur here could you help me out with a lil problem ive been having,
i recently lent out my bass to a friend so she could experience bass before deciding what she wanted to play and i noticed that after 2 days of not being able to play i got really irritabe and fidgety. and that was only for 5days, does anyone know why this is?
im going on holiday soon for 2 weeks and obviously i cant take it with me. how can i stop this??

sounds like playing is your outlet for stress. i'd say first of all is there no absolute way you could bring it along? like even without and amp? and second if you cant then try drawing or screaming into a pillow when you feel figity or irritable

Heh it almost sounds like an addiction, I know when I don't have a cigarette or dip in a while, I get really irritable, maybe it's the same thing :p

While you're away from it, instead of playing, maybe practice writing lyrics and getting everything out that way, it's always worked for me.

Don't worry, I'm sure you're not the only one that gets like that when not playing for a while. Just try to find some other outlet for your creativity, like I said, lyric writing works for me, maybe you could find something else if you don' want to do that.

thats some BS.. but if you pack it right in a hard case it should be fine in regular luggage.

I hope I never have a kid like you :p

I just don't have any patience, I'm gonna be the one comin down on the kids, she's gonna be the one spoiling them. She doesn't even want them to pay for their own gas when they start driving

I saw this link on the site
http://www.twanger.com/
it's like a little fret board for picking practice, and you can take it anywhere with you- while you probably won't get sound from it, at least you can practice your fingering! I've never used it, so I can't say for sure how good it is.
I think it was around $50 though- you could probably make a little cheapy one for yourself- get a piece of wood, some screws and strings, and there ya go!
just an idea:)
