hey dude... I think reverb is a good way to go. If you don't know what reverb is, its basically like you're in a large hall =]
I take it you have an amp with distortion... and with that, you're going to need to put your reverb in the effects loop, so that you don't distort the reverb. And I think even most practice combo's have effects loops. sooo you should be fine, just look 2 plugs on the back or front that say send and return. Now if you haven't already bought 2 new leads you need to go and do so. Run a lead from 'send' on the amp to 'input' on the pedal, then another lead from 'output' on the pedal into 'return' on the amp. And thats how to use the effects loop.

Reverb is like a large room echo. You can do small room to large hall echo, and you can adjust how much reverb is in with your dry guitar signal.

Chorus is one of my favorite effects. It adds depth to your sound. It is kinda hard to describe... but it is very cool to use on clean tones. I use chorus on all of my clean tones because it makes it fuller.

I would say get either a chorus or a reverb pedal. Both are great for clean.

a heard a description of a chorus pedal as being 'its like adding about 5 or so guitars and tuning them a tiny bit sharp or flat'

Yeah i guess that's what it's like. I just like it cause it adds lots of depth.

Thnx for all the advise! i think i will stick with the reverb, i am stuck with my dads bass amp for now though, and it doesn't have any effects or distortions on it, so, i dont know what the effect loop thing is all about, but thnx anyways!

There are other posts somewhere either in the gear forum or electric gutiar forum that discuss effects loops.

Yep
and don't worry about what I said with the effects loops and stuff just yet. Just run from guitar, to pedal, to amp
