Tuning down 1 step

I have been playing electric guitar for about two months now, and I am getting pretty good, but all the songs that I have been playing have been in either standard or drop-d tuning. I've been trying to play some songs that are supposed to be tuned down one step (low to high D-G-C-F-A-D). I have no idea how to tune this way. Someone please help me!

well if you can tune to drop d, then you can tune down a full step. Just tune to drop d, then just tune the rest of the guitar the standard way so it just goes down =]

what do you say when you tell someone to tune a whole step down..
do you just say....a step down?
