Too Electric for an acoustic

Does anyone know how to stop my acoustic sounding like an electric giutar when it's plugged in to my amp?

umm if you have an amp that has a gain knob instead of a gain switch, turn the gain down.

But i Just sounds like i'm playing an electric guitar with the gain turned down! lol

How do you keep the 'acoustic sound'

is it the amp?

is there separate amps for electric and acoustics?

well I myself dont have an electric accoustic, so I don't know how to make it sound like an accoustic. But one way is to mic the acoustic.

there are dedicated acoustic amps out there.

but if you cant afford another amp, as smfulla said you can mic it through a clean amp and it should sound ok.
