I know that playing a bass through a guitar amp is bad stuff.
But I had a strange idea that makes sense to me, but will probably just make my guitar amp pop.
The bassist who just joined my band has a 12 watt bass amp which also has a headphone out jack. My 40 watt guitar amp has a cd in jack. Could I connect the headpone and cd in jacks so that the bass plays through the bass amp to create the bassy sound, and then is played through the guitar amp as if it were a cd?
The sound would probably get muddy, but it'd be a quick fix until she can get a good enough bass combo. When it's on clean I can hear the 40 watt amp through the drums, so it's not like theres no point in doing this.
