Banjo

I have been playing Sing by Travis and It got me thinking about trying Banjo Is the transition to banjo easy or would it be like starting over again what im saying is a banjo is more like a guitar than a trumpet so I would think it would be easy to pick up what do you think?

hmm well....
i would think it would have alot to do with where you are at with your guitar....i was told to learn one neck at a time when i talked about learning violin recently...

but yeah...banjos are pretty neat...my mom had one when i was a kid...i was always amazed at how fast she could pick even with arthritis.....loved to hear her play a song called "cripple creek"...

anyways....i know for me i wouldnt be ready to take on another instrument...youll have to decide that for yourself...i think one major problem for me would be that i woud have to split my practice time between two instuments then i might have to chose one over the other....not fun....

i think it would be easier than picking up a trumpet like you say,and not like starting all over again..i know zilch anout banjo's but my guess is,they're remotely related and i'm sure you can apply what u know about guitar's on banjo's.
Also many bands use banjo's nowadays so i'm assuming it ain't that hard to learn when you're a guitar player.

I had a play on a banjo today and I think that i could get up and playing in a few hours with it well make somethin sound good to my ears at least, There is a guy who busks in the city where I live using a banjo and he sure pulls the crowds you sometimes get him and his mate playing Dueling Banjos from the film Deliverance what a thing to see
