Ok i've been playing bass for not to long now and i've been going to lessions im addicted and hooked on bass like just recently i took home my first bass man slick style red mettilic color awsome sound lol ok now to my problem well my teacher says i need to work on the way i "attack the string" with my right hand or picking hand well i need some ecsercises on practiceing useing your 2 or 3 fingers to pick and getting in sync with it any one got any tips tricks or anything?:confused::cool:

second... find a easy song you like.. and just practice that

try not to pluck the strings so much. its more of a stroke (unless your after that kind of sound).

use this as a guide. put a pen on the desk infront of you then put your finger on top of it. just pust down on the pen slightly until the pen shoots forward and your finger hits the desk.

thats the motion you want.

Its just a guide and worth working on, the main thing is to be comfortable and stay relaxed. just keep practising and you'll soon find that your doing it natuarally. at first your right hand and arm will ache after a while but you soon build up your resilience.

when it comes to timing all i can say is to just practise tapping your 1st + 2nd finger alternately on your desk in time to music when you hear it. its important that its alternately - you really dont know how much it will improve your playing.....not just your speed but it will also make the transition from one string to the other much easier and much smoother.
