i was wondering when playing an A shaped barred chord would it matter if i used my 4th finger to barre the 3 (notes such as Bb or B)or if i used my 3rd finger. if i continue to use my 3rd finger do you think that this will affect me in ANY way at all whatsoever???

Most people do use their 3rd finger to barre the three strings. If the way you do it now feels O.K, then stick with it. I think using the 3rd finger to barre gives you slightly more options (sus4, 7ths etc...)

Personally I would(and do) use my 3rd finger because of the extra chord possibilities and extra strength in my 3rd, but like I said before, if what you use at the minute feels more comfortabe then stick with it.

You may want to try using your 3rd finger and see if you like it or not. But neither finger is the "correct" one, you can use either, theres nothing wrong with it.
