I was just wondering how you usually finger an open A chord.

1) index, middle, ring
2) barre with index
3) middle, ring, pinky

Personally, I do it the 3rd way, but that fingering doesn't appear on the cyberfret site even if I consider it to be the most comfortable: you can easily switch to Asus2 and Asus4 from that fingering (which you can't do if you use the 2nd fingering) and you don't have angle your hand like with the 1st fingering.

Does anybody else do it like me (the 3rd way)? Or is there anything *bad* about it that I'm overlooking?

Personally I barre the three strings and mute the high E string, but if I want to play the high E as part of the chord I use my middle, ring and pinky to form the chord.

I don't think there's anything wrong with it, it's just different. It's easier to go to Asus2, Asus4, Am, Em, C and it allows you to play the high E string aswell.
