Post which you think is the best, each is $299.99 at musiciansfriend.com. Give reasons why you think your choice is best.

Well I don't know the genesis, never heard of it. But I'm sure you've seen my posts on the POD. If you buy it without looking at anything else you will still be extremely happy with the tonal results you will get out of HEADPHONES. I play through headphones all the time, and it's like I'm playing through my half stack... not the same volume, but it's got the same balls and feel.

Here is the info on the Genesis 3 http://www.digitech.com/products/productpgs/genesis3.htm
And this is for the POD http://www.line6.com/main/Products/ProductGroups/ProductDetails.cfm?ProductID=7
This might help you decide. The POD sounds good but the warp feature on the Genesis looks like it works nice.

Hey Im a BIG Digitech fan and I use there products but on this occasion I would go with the pod simple reason is it seems to be a better made unit the Genesis is a bit on the toyish But the Warp factor is cool on the Genesis

here is a very interesting site that gives the pros and cons of all the modeling devices you're looking at. The guy who runs the site chose the POD but is pretty objective about the reviews of the other devices.

Looks like the POD wins out over the genesis. He said the genesis' effects are better but the amp models don't come close to POD's. POD's amp models are amazing.

Love my POD! Never heard of the other.
I record into my PortaStudio with it, play it through my amp, at church I go straight to the board, but what I like best is jammin' all night through my headphones not disturbing the wife and kids.
Peace!
