When I'm playin my guitar and I start improvising I sometimes like a few licks a play, but chances are I'll eventually forget about them unless I play them everyday(which I sometimes do). So I wanted to know a way to write the licks or the solos down without using tablatures.

You could use standard notation. Or you could just record them.....then if you completely forgot you would have relearn the lick from the tape. Why not tablature? Tablature is an easy system of notation for guitar, especially if you have not had previous experience in reading a writing standard notation.
