triplets

What are triplets????? I see them in music everywhere.

They are three notes that are played in the space of one count. If you were in 4/4 time and had four quarter notes in one measure, they would be counted 1-2-3-4. If you were in 4/4 time and had four sets of triplets in one measure, they would be counted 1+uh-2+uh-3+uh-4+uh.
