I've just learned the awesome solo in Iron Man (a great song by Black Sabbath). I'm confortable with it, but there is one problem. When I listened to the song the solo sounds different. I don't know, maybe I'm playing to slow or something. I've got the solo form this tab (when you go and see the song, It says solo 1 right above the solo I worked on) Here is the link:

Maybe the tab is wrong, or there are some different effects in the song that you don't have. I don't know.

im pretty sure that when the guy tabbed it, he was a flat below standard tuning, because it sounds to me like the entire song's like that.

Are you tuned to standard? The whole song is in Standard. A majority of Black Sabbath has double tracked solos. You need the tab for both parts. Tony Iommi double tracked a lot of his solos. Its almost erie how well he pulled it off.

what im saying is that im in standard tuning and the song, in the way it was tabbed, sounded a half step too low

That tab may be incorrect..

My friend lent me his "Best of Black Sabbath" book, complete with a CD and booklet full of accurate tablature.

That tab doesn't look anything like the version I learned

That's in magazine/book-style tablature. It's a little easier to read and sounds more similar (still a little different) to the real version.
