you know, very frequently people coem on here posting about how they want to put a whammy on their hardtail guitar and me or one of several others always end up explaining why. do you think it would be possible to make a sticky about this and other common questions that we have to answer over and over.....and over......and over

But there are many questions that are asked over and over again. Therefore if we made every common question sticky, the first 5 pages of posts would be those FAQ. I could put a sticky post that tells people to use the search function in the forums, but I guarantee that would not change anything.

Why not just make some of these common questions, especially the questions with more in depth answers, lesson and post them in the User Lessons and Articles board? Then we could just refer whoever asks these questions to that thread.

That seems somewhat reasonable to me.

the interaction is what keeps forums alive. i think every question has been answered on this forum but getting a response to your question directly keeps people coming back. it also gives an opportunity for people who are just learning things to try explaing what they have learned to other people. which is the best way to cement what you have learned.

I definately agree. The theory I've learned over the past couple of months has really set in after explaining it even just a couple of times. I hate to sign on here and not see some new thread or reply after a day.

The forums would be relatively dead without the new people.

Yep, I agree w/Gibby. I just turned 50 last month.

I know there are some older than us, but that list should be short.

Pickin' up momentum then, eh Homebrewer/Gibby? I'm still hikin up that hill :D Its funny how it seems like 14 years is a lot (which kinda is), but life on earth is only almost 1/4 over
I give myself up until 85 of natural death, if I'm shot, well..thats another story

Funny I come here and was gonna say somethin like:
Can you put a sticky on the top of the gear board saying "BEFORE YOU POST TO SEE WHAT KIND OF GEAR TO GET, STATE PRICE RANGE, MUSICAL GENRE YOU LIKE, etc. etc. etc."
Not neccesarily answering a question, just making it more detailed so we don't have to ask each and every time.
