Are members.... at least 100 (I checked the member list), afraid to post?
These forums are awesome, we just need more members that actually POST sometimes!
I just joined recently, and this site is great, extremely helpful.

Yeah, I noticed that a while back. They took the time to register and don't even say anything, strange.

im guessing alot of them either find other websites to use as well (which is encouraged by the way) or drop out of guitar altogether...when they see how much there is to learn...

I'm gonna say that as a new member, this site is a bit slower than Fender but there is less wasted banter and topics are more music oriented here. I think also that not everyone has time to post. Other important things going on in their lives.
I have no children, don't watch TV (it sucks mostly anyway) so the internet is all I really have for leisure time. I am always searching for information but this is the only way to get opinions from others without going to the music store. Most people here are more experinced than the music store employees anyway so it really a great thing to have. There in a bunch of guys on the Fender discussion page just shooting the breeze about nothing. I want info not banter.
Plus they are kinda stuck up on that FDP anyway...
My 4 cents

I like the site, don't post very often because ( gulp) I don't listen to much of the same music as other posters here. Never listened to Metallica--sorry! I like all kinds of music, although " new country" is pretty hard to take. I love Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan, but I also like MOR stuff. I'm not familiar with CCM, not that I'm a heathen, just never bothered.
Having said all that, this is a great site to learn stuff, and I do enjoy the banter, even if I don't always know who you're talking about. I'm a member of another site, but don't go on it often because some of the off topic stuff is pretty raunchy, which I can do without.

O.K, since this is remotely related. How on earth did we manage to get 533 users all online at once? The most I've ever seen is 11.

Probably a bug.

This site has been attacked a few times by hackers. That was one day that there was an attack. They were trying to overload the server via the forums. I have flood controls now in place so that there is not even the possibility of that many members on at one time. Avoiding more attacks is in part why you now have to log in at all times whether you are going to post or just view the threads.
