I thought it was just the bandwidth restriction the university recently put on me. I guess not. Other sites are fine.

It's not my computer as every other site is fine. I've noticed this forum getting slower over the last week but last day or two has been terrible. I used to open a new window for each thread I wanted to read but now I have to load one page at a time and even then I sometimes have to refresh it :(

What's wrong Shaun? Is it just some temporary thing?

I dunno, it's about the same here as it is for any other site, at least for me.

It seems to be working just fine for me too. I haven't noticed it being slow at all.

Hmm, dunno then. It's not too bad today. I'll try deleting my cookies and see if that helps. Could be an NTL problem I guess but it's only this forum that is slow for me.

I dunno, maybe do a scan for Spyware or something.

i scan for spyware all the time, my machines built like a rock.


What i can say is that the speed was noticeably slower around the time i installed windows XP Service Pack 2. Maybe the extra security is slowing things down....

I had to download that piece of junk too. Darn university and their darn new security measures. Darn them to Heck.

That piece of software is what was keeping me off the internet for a week.

I think my computer hasn't been running as well lately because of that too. But it's not really that noticable.

Right now its slower than ever. We are talking multiple minute long waits in between each link click.

Only on this website too. Everything else is ultra fast on this high speed university connection.

It seems fine for me today :) I think I may have found the solution. Last night I disabled the firewall that comes built in XP because it was causing problems in a game I play and today so far the forum is as fast as all the other sites.

Now my I can't get online because of my darn university. (I'm on my roommate's computer.) This place originally told me to download a certain virusscan, now I can't get online until I download a different one. I can't download it until I get online.

God I hate this place.

i dunno my XP firewall has been in off always. And for me its fine also. I think it was something to do with Windows Security for sure tho.

Well, it's quite slow again tonight so it musta been coinkidink that it was ok this morning after I'd disabled the firewall. What could it be then? It is just this forum for me and every other kinda webpage is fine. Maybe it's sommat to do with the stuff on the left?

Maybe we should have a poll to see how many ppl this forum is slow for and what operating systems they have.

its not too much slower for me it used to be slower actually... but the system i use internet explorer with dsl and have norton anti virus annd it doesnt seem to slow it down much
