what was the best show that you have ever seen live?

for it would have to be metallica in 98. even though i had lawn seats i still had the time of my life. special for me because they are the reason why i play guitar.

...Elvis Costello in Strasbourg, 1984. The place was about the size of a school gym and there were less than 400 people there. It was great. I've also been to some monster all day concerts in Germany that were fantastic.

actually....farm aid was really awesome...way better than i expected....my favorite is dave matthews...and actually i went to see him esp after i saw him the year before and saw how awesome his concerts were...but farmaid was like 8 hours long and had dave as part of the lineup...so...bonus....(and yeah believe it or not john cougar was REALLY good....but so was neil young....and alot of the other acts)...anyhow...id cast my vote for dave overall...but definitely will recommend farm aid to anyone who has the opportunity to go....

so now i wait for the thread to start entitled "the WORST concert youve ever been to".... yeah ive seen some bad ones...

I really like going to festivals and the best one I went to was probably V2001. Fantastically muddy, pouring down with rain but well worth it. Muse, JJ72, Red Hot Chillies, Foo Fighters, Shed Seven, David Gray, Idlewild, Placebo, Neil Finn and Embrace were all fantastic. The only dissapiontment was that I missed Ian Brown because he was on at the same time as The Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

Ive been to some pretty good concerts over the years. I saw ACDC on their back in black tour - excellent concert. Saw Neil Young in mid eighties and that was awsome. There's been heaps more... Last year I saw Radiohead, Beck and Nick Cave, all really good concerts. But the best that I remember was Paul Weller at the Brixton academy (if I remember rightly) in 90 or 91. Unbelievable venue and the guy has an awsome repertoire dating from his days with the Jam and Style Council. He liked to jam and his musicians were great. Memorable moment.:D

For watching the guitar player, Jeff Beck then Kenny Wayne Sheppard. For pure emotion and fun, an acoustic/emo band called DashBoard Confessional. The fans are just great at the Dashboard shows, awesome people and sing along with EVERY song

I'VE NEVER BEEN TO A CONCERT!!! IT TOTALLY SUCKS!!!
im thirteen so i cant drive, i gotta hide my music from my parents or else their gona break my cd's so they cant take me and both of my older sisters (16 and 18) hate my music. all they like is pop, hip-hop and stuff that just came out (pitiful isn't it). and thats about all of my choices for driving. so it looks like its gonna be about 3 1/2 years before i get to go to a concert (my parents wont let me on the freeway until im 17). ive taken the time to look at my situation and say "This sucks!" a bunch lately.

dude...blood...i feel for ya brother...are they hardcore religous or something?..i went to school with a guy whose parents were so hardcore religous that they would not let him watch TV or listen to the radio...it was sad...i think he's in prison now...it was just too much...once he turned 18 and figured out what there was in the world he just went off the handle...drinkin, drugs, women...got him in a lot of trouble

no man they're not religious at all. we havnt been to church in years and im a self-proclaimed athiest. but they're jsut too damn protective. at 12 i had to where a freaking helmet on my bike. the only thing is id fake crashing and stomped on it. although i think this made them think that i crashed too much. but i think they're loosening up a little bit. my sister blasts som killa cops rap crap and they dont care (i try to drown it out but she's got the better stereo). its just everyone in my family hates my music. my dad likes blues, my mom likes country and my sisters like rap ... so it just happened to turn out with me at the bottom of the stick.

if i tryed that it'd be on the floor or under her bed in less than a week (most likely lost). one year for my birthday she bought me a blink182 cd and within a month i had lost it and found it in her stereo. and thats about the only cd she has ever liked of mine.

damn. well, hmm, why not ask your parents to come with you, if you say, 'i want to go to see metallica (example) but, i dont want to go on my own' they might think, hmm,
1) he isnt lying to us
2) he is chosing us before his friends.
Give it ago, however, if they come, you may not enjoy the gig as much, what with the strictness you were explaining before, but hey, a gigs a gig right? :)

lol that would absolutely never work fizz.
1)my parents never drive me anywhere in the first place.
2)my parents are way over the hill and have never even heard of about 90% of my music.
3)most of the bands i like cus (which they hate)
so that would definately not work. also, i dont know when any concerts are gonna be. since i know im not gonna be going to one i never check dates.

i live a little west of houston se77en. about 2/3 the way west to a town called katy.

The best concert I have ever been to was Dream Theater this year in SF. They had a phenominal guitar/keys battle and during their encore, they began playing the soft solo section from Master Of Puppets. The keyboardist was sight reading the harmonized solo part and the chords. It was the first concert I sang the whole way through. Lucky for me I figured out how to sing with my diaphram.

P.S. DT rules!!!!!!!!!!!

Pink Floyd...by far without a doubt. After that it would have to be the Slayer, Testament show in Denver a bunch of years ago.Slayer shares one brain onstage.....amazing.
