today after i finished playing guitar for a while, i noticed that the tip of my finger was white. i waited for about 2 hours and thought it would be gone by then, but it's still there. it's under the skin, and it's sort of a white looking color. is this what a newly formed callus looks like?

The callus will not be visible immidiately after playing, infact the skin will appear 'worn out' or 'torn' and there might be some blackness due to the metal particles. later the skin will harden and callus forms.

Maybe u have blisters!

Hey Danish.
Sounds like ya gots a bud there. That's where calluses start, deep in the skin. As you play over a period of time, the skin on your finger tips breaks down. Ya got something like seven layers of skin, fresh made, deep: all the way to what's on the suface. That white spot is new skin being made, down deep. As you play more and damage the tissue of your finger tips, new skin will be made deep, pushing that white spot to the suface. Then, you'll really have a callus and can play for hours, go to the bathroom, then come back and play more.
Congrat's on your new callus.
