I got a 10 minute meldey on an old tape and it's called Morrisons Lament (plus other songs). I looked for tabs on the net but couldn't find any. It appears it's a rare, ghost song, I guess I should be glad.
I was trying to tab out the rythym section (since the solos are too hard for me, the only solo i can play is about a girl :D) and I got to something like this
Bass line
E 0--3--5--777 repeated over and over again (bass+rythym guitar strumming power chords with solo in the background)
after a while it changes to
E 00.--33.-55.-77777 .= staccatoed anyway same as above, repeated with bass and solo.
then it just goes backwards
E 0-77-55-333-0-77-55-333-0
I have three questions...
1)what scale does this look like?
2)does anyone have a tab or is willing to write one?
3)did anyone ever hear this song, especially some better Hendrix fans...
Thanks in advance.

... yeah i heard that tune before... i also had it on a tape, god knows where it came from... problem is i moved to taiwan two years ago and i didnt bring *any* of my tapes with me...thus far i cant seem to find it on the internet... if i do, i'll try to tab it out for you...
---ah.. i just found out where that tape comes from---
"This music was liberated from a bootleged Hendrix concert in a London coffeehouse. Apparently a whole bunch of stars of the era stood in during this set, including: Jim Morrison, Johnny Winter and Buddy Miles. The exact date of the event is unknown(by me), but it features some incredible and hilarious music."
"Track 4 ,"Morrison's Lament," features a hideously dosed Morrison throwing an acid tantrum with gentle Jimmy trying to calm him down and keep his groove. Despite of (or because of) the heavy medication sizzling on these tracks this is some really great music..."
...no wonder that tape was so wicked...:D

but the track I have isn't called Morrisons Lament but a medley of some songs with M.L. as the bulk. Once I'll get home I'll post the other ones.
Thanks, wow, I have a Hendrix rarity :)

I deciphered another part of the rythym section...
bassline
E--0--3--5--7--5--3--0--3-0
The Rhythym is the same notes in different order but generally it's
E G A B
I can try and record the song onto wav and then convert into mp3 or at least part of it... though i doubt the quality. should i give it a try???

here it is, track 4 Morissons Lament
http://cdnow.com/cgi-bin/mserver/SID=1736837773/pagename=/RP/CDN/FIND/album.html/artistid=HENDRIX*JIMI/itemid=1181091
it's different than my version, in my version it's just Jimmy playing guitar all the time...
I just noticed that my tape has the same songs as the "Early Years Album" -look above for link- plus others (i.e. Soul food) but not live and definately not from that cafe...
hmmm, differnet album same songs- NYC 68' (http://cdnow.com/cgi-bin/mserver/SID=1736837773/pagename=/RP/CDN/FIND/album.html/artistid=HENDRIX*JIMI/itemid=548985)

...hmm sounds like what you have must be an even more intersting recording than the coffee shop one... your'e lucky... if i were you i'd record the tape to wav/mp3 no matter how questionable the sound quality is, you never know when tapes will just up and die on you... it'd be good to have a backup...

Okay, here it is folks.
The song is called exactly
Medley: Morissons Lament, Tommorow Never Comes (beatles?), Uranus Rock, Outside Woman Blues (Cream).
Now,here are the tabs for outside woman blues... (http://www.guitartabs.cc/fetchurl.php?filename=/c/cream/outside_woman_blues.btab) ... could only find bass tabs but you will see they are the 0 3 5 7 5 3 0 3 0 ones i posted above.
I also found that whoever recordes this tape was extremely bad at it because half of the medley is on one side and ends on the other side... Sheesh...
