Whats the deal with this (add_)? How is A (add2) different to Asus2? I cant find these add chords in the Cyberfret chord finder. Anyone know how you form this chord: A(add2)/E? I bet its really easy...

Cheers

It all depends on where you saw the chord, if it was in internet tab they probably meant a normal sus2 chord. However, the 2nd degree is the same note name as the 9th degree so it could actually be an A add9. These chords sound allmost identical so it might not actually matter which you play.

Here's how I would play both those:
Asus2/E................A add9/E
el--x--------------------0----------------
Bl--0--------------------0---------------
Gl--2--------------------5---------------
Dl--2--------------------7---------------
Al--0--------------------7----------------
El--0--------------------0------------------
Playing the high e string is optional on both those chords, but I always mute it on the sus2 so it sounds different to the add9.

:) Thanks Fury. Youre right, I did get them from tabs from the net. I pretty much suspected that it was sus2 and worked out that first position formation. Didnt sound right and still doesnt. Internet tabs! Anyway, thanks for the tip, mush appreciated
