Just like to know: Is there a pedal effect that basically gives what a tremelo gives?

well there is an effect called a tremelo effect. I'm not sure if it exactly sounds like using a tremelo but check out www.musiciansfreind.com, they have a section where you can hear lots of effects......

Well there are tremolo pedals... But there are also whammy type pedals. The best known of this type is the Digitech Whammy Pedal. It is really cool: it can bend the notes of what you play with the same movement of a wah pedal. I would like to have one, but I just don't have the use for it to spend the money. I have a new car now that I have to take care of :). Later

Do you mean a whammy bar? If you do, then no, a tremolo pedal doesnt sound like one. It makes the sound steadily alternate between loud and soft. A whammy pedal does sound like a whammy bar though. The only one I know of is by digitech, about $130.
