If you have anything for sale, post the listed items, or the links to them on ebay, in your signature, with a PM me.

Then if someone wants to sell something, they can exchange eMails, or IM names using PM, and then not use anymore traffic.

I don't think there'd be any problems, the only traffic would be PM traffic to Get emails/IM names, not much...

So how 'bout it?

If you think it's a good Idea, you could put, "If you have anything for sale, post the listed items, or the links to them on ebay, in your signature, with a PM me." in the rules.

Honestly, I don't think it'd stop the I want a B/S/T forum, threads, or the occasional, I have this for sale thread(Those people usually never read the rules to begin with), but at least that way we could... those who do follow the rules... err... well mostly :o ... Buy sell and trade, without causing any extra traffic.

It's not that those kinds of threads cause a lot of traffic problems. It's that there are a lot of things that can go wrong with selling an item like that; non-receivement of payment/item, damaged item, etc. Plus there's no real way to keep track of and police these, so a lot of shady people can come in here and con us out of our money. Maybe if it's a link to an ebay auction, that might be ok, but otherwise, I still don't think it would fly.

Yeah, the link to eBay in the sig might work, as it wouldn't cause any new threads to be made, and would be safe, at least as far as eBay is safe...
