The D's and U's are whether i would pick the string going up or down. Is this picking pattern the easiest way to play the song?

Also wold it make it easier if I barred across the 14th fret with my first finger? this would make the awkward change for my first finger going from the E string 14th to G string 14th a bit easier. Or should i just work on doin it normally? Wot do u think?

Down-Up Picking is the easiest way for nearly any song, not all but alot. You can still move fast if your very loose with picking wise but down-up picking is what helps you increase speed and is much easier then just going "Up up up up up up or down down down down down down".

And about the barre on the 14th fret, it's nearly up to you if it works best for you. But I'd say let all your fingers do each of there jobs in a loose and non-barre way. But whatever suits you best then go for it.
