I thought Alice in Chains was already broken up...but even if they weren't...there is no way in hell that they could find somebody to replace Layne.

hey guys i hate to break it to you but AIC has been broken up for several years. since 1996 i believe. they wont replace him. they cant replace him. listen to his voice it is so unique. no one else can be like that. everyone lost something when he died. many dont realize they have lost something but they have. RIP layne. we love you.

Even if Alice In Chains were still alive, like someone already said,You just can't ever replace Staley's voice.I always had hope that AIC would get back together, they just seemed to me like the type of band that can break up and get back together AND get away with it.I'm really sorry that he passed away like this.It really is a great loss.Probably the greatest. What braeks my heart is that i believe he never got enough credit and recognition for his talents.

you are so right. he influenced nearly everything that is rock today. and he deserves a lot of recognition. thats why my band and i are setting up a free concert for an AIC tribute on May 25th. we are playing only AIC songs. but we are all gonna miss him though.

o, im not really big on AIC. i just thought that the music world was so unlucky to lose a great person like Staley. i've only got "Dirt" but everyone's right that Staley couldn't be replaced. if you can tell Staley kinda makes AIC's music sound dark and sorta freaky with just the sound of his voice.

damn right they were unlucky to lose him. he never got recognition he deserved. neither did the rest of the band. when Cobain died it was everywhere. and when layne died it seemed almost as if no one really cared and thats depressing.
