Dad cut off his right index finger at the first joint about a year ago and has not played a chord since. There must be a place to learn new fingering combos to make the chords he can sing along with. He is 72 years old and hasn't learned a new song in 30 years. Suggestions Please.
Thank You
Denny

Well, I guess the best way is for him to learn a new way to shape chords. Maybe just using different fingers.
He'll definately have to use open chords.
I really hope your dad gets back into guitar

I got this website from someone on this forum, in another thread some time ago.
It shows a playing style that incorporates an alternative tuning, in which most chords are just formed with the the tumb and one or two other fingers. Maybe he could try that.
Anyways, open tunings would also definitely help...
I really hope he finds a way to play again.
