Well, I created some patches with my BOSS GT-8... and just fiddled around. Asked some people on a different forum what they would like to hear. It was mainly ska and blues so I decided to give em a go.

The top blues improv has a decent solo-esque thing in it. The patch I used had loads of reverb which took away from the bluesy feel of the rhythm part of the song. I took out the reverb on that channel and it sounds much better for rhythm.

The second one (Which is labeled DirtySyko. I love you. It's an inside joke) is my attempt at ska. I've never played ska before and I think I did a decent job considering.

You can void the third one. That was recorded a very long time ago.

Anyway, I've been trying to create some heavier tones for awhile and all I need to do is EQ them. I think I'm going to record some more blues stuff tonight and post it up.

Tell me what you think.

The blues song has a live sound to it. It would be pretty awesome if you dubbed in some crowd noise!

I have no idea what to listen for when it comes to ska music...

One thing I would recommend you do is lower the record input volume on your computer (I assume you are recording on your computer -- if not turn it down on the Boss). The noise is coming from your sound clipping. Lowering the volume won't sacrifice any tone, just make the recorded product sound much more pleasant.

=P. I never thought of that. I'll give it a try sometime.

But yeah, I've been going partly blind with these recordings. The sound is much MUCH louder on the end product then come out of my speakers. It was very quiet when I recorded it =\.

Ahh well, I'll get it all fixed up.

And about the ska, I don't either. I'm not a huge fan. Pretty much just barred the bottom four strings and fiddled around with some variations on the chord structure.
