I am tired of recording using my guitar pluged in the computer. What will I need so I can beable to record using my amp? some kind of hardware recording devices? I heard some people use their mic's but I would like to know the best way to get great sound quality thanks.

if your computer has a mic input buy a mic with a mic end and a 1/4 input then buy a 1/4 to 1/8 (making the 1/4 to 1/8) plug the mic into computer then put mic infront of your amp have a rec prog running then record away

I started there... got some really poor results. got a POD, things got better, but was limited by the POD's tone (recorded rather flat and glassy). bought a better sound card, that helped. then bought a better mic (the boy broke my sm57), things got better, now I'm fiddling around with a board and mic'ing my amp. now I can't get a good overall tone out of the recording after I convert it... likely my software. If you just want to record get a DI box of some sort (like a POD, there are at least a dozen choices out there) and that is a big step up.

So buy a mic and maybe a better soundcard then mic my amp? ok I will do it one day. What is some of the equipment the professionals use?

Seriously, you are much better off (financially, too) if you just buy a POD. I use a POD 2.0 and it works incredbly for me. Mic'ing is an art form that takes quite a bit of experience to do well. Add to that the cost of getting a good mixer and mic and the labor of arranging a place with the proper acoustics, and you are better off with the great-out-of-the-box tone from a POD.

A good mic and souncard will cost u about £250 +
And as for the amp u have mate theres no point in micing it as its only a tiny pravtice amp which wont giv out good tone anyway. Your best bet is an fx unit IE. Pods..Or the Gt-8 ;)
