When pulling this off is it harmful to your trem system if you do it fast/somewhat agressively?

if it's a good tremolo it's not, I just wouldn't conitnue going absolutely crazy like that for long periods at a time, hehe. Just to be safe.

All I can say is, you can go crazy if you are pushin it down, but DONT push it down then UP aggresively, or even just pull it up aggressively... not with new strings, or an old/crap tremolo anyways.

I had a an old guitar for my first one with a tremolo on it, and I put new strings on, and though, hey you know what, I can stretch my strings by jerking off the bar. So here I am going nuts and *SPROING*
not only does the high E come whipping off, but the whole tremolo dislodged itself.

PS: Although everyone knows this anyways, I love the motorbike sound of keeping the trem down and wanging on the slack strings with a distorted amp/ or + pedal. Just makes my day sometimes :)
