epiphone or fender

i have £400 to spend (you can take a rough guess at dollars) so should i get an Epiphone LP or a Fender Mexican Tele (i play a lotta clean rythm for guys in town)

Well i would say, get the one with the sound you like. I mean they sound complete opposite of each other. The tele has a twangy sound, and the les paul has a fat sound... so i guess its up to you.

I haven't had good experiances with epiphone or gibsons lately. I have a fender mim strat(not a tele) which has awsome playability and a decent stock sound, but i'd change the pickups in either one of those guitars if i got one.

I have a Fender MIM tele, and it's my favorite guitar. It's also my best guitar, but....well... The frets on it are espicially good, since they're low-wide they're easy on your fingers. The pickups are good---on mine at least--- they keep the clarity of your guitar intact--- even with my signal having 30dB of gain added and the distortion on my amp on 8.
