I NEED HELP ON HOW TO DO BASS SOLO'S.

That's a bit vague. What kind of problems are you having. Are you finding it difficult to hit the correct strings or do certain techniques?. Is there a song you're having trouble with?

I'm not a Bass player, I'm just trying to make it easier for other people to help you when they answer.

bass solos are easy.... just play something interesting, entertaining, and great!

I'm a bassist (sort of) in my current band, and taking lessons from a great local bassist, I could ask him.

Well I guess something general to tell you is to figure out what key it's in, then play notes based around that key and the chords the other band members are playing.

what kind of style of music? what kind of scale? is there a song in particular? are you going to do this live with a band or just by yourself? have you checked out the theory section here (the bass is tuned like the top four string on a guitar, standard tuning)? how long have you played? are you any good? what kinda things are you looking for?

remember a bass solo isn't the same as a guitar solo just lower, there is a complete different feel to it.

I play metal. like death metal=slayer, old school metal=black sabbath judas priest, iron maiden. theresa sertain bass solo that i want to learn how to play but cant find it. its the solo's right before Black sabbath's N.I.B. i think it's might be on a song called bassically on the album "balck sabbath" it's right before N.I.B on that song then on "we sold our soul for rock and roll" it's on N.I.B. ive played bass for about 1 year i realy good.
and i play some blues bass in a band. but i dont listen to blues so i cant come up with blues solos.

If your looking for the solo before NIB if found a good tab for it at mxtabs.net just go to black sabbath and the song is called "basically". I'm pretty sure it's correct but I'm not positive.
