Hi Voodoo

I like the blues personally. Do you know the blues scale? It's very versatile. What are you studying for scales now. Do you play mostly open chords or barres as well. Personally I lean the what Mel Bay would call modern rhythm chords which work well in any style of music but particularly well in blues and jazz.

There is not an easy answer that will make you want to practice those things. You are going to have to decide on your own that practicing these things will benefit your playing and ability on the guitar.....and they will. Just set aside 15 minutes every day to "practice". Not jam on some tunes, but play things like scale, learn the names of the notes, learn the names of chords, etc.

At first, just do what the Nike commercial says......"Just Do It!". Then as you see the progress, and the practice becomes habit, you will be motivated to do more.

danish.. it's very hard to see yourself progress. You're the one building yourself, and well.. it's just so hard to see. You really are, mostlikely more than you even know.

I used to play by myself when I was younger.. used to jam with some folks. We stoped jamming for awhile, and I went back to playing by myself. I couldn't see any progress at all, was disgusted.. I felt like I just couldn't get stuff no matter how hard I tried. A year or so latter I hooked back up with them folks.. they kept going on and on about how much better I play.. I just couldn't see it myself.

Just keep pouring your heart into it.... =))))

Try just recording a standard progression for something like e flat and then just start foolin around with the notes in the minor scale. You'll be surprised at what you learn and how much fun it is.
