WASUP PPL!!!! OK IM STARTING A BAND AND I NEED SOME HELP ON HOW TO WRITE SONGS. THE STYLE IS PUNK. DO U PPL HAVE ANY ADVICE?? :p :confused: :D

try to get a good vocal melody and a not-so-cliched chord pattern. Your main chords are probably gonna be the root, 4th, 5th, and relative minor but at least try to put them in a little different order. Another apporach if you have some expierence and you're tired of barre chords as I am, try expierementing with unusual chord voices, like the hendrix chord or Em7add9 and a bunch of stuff. If you do this it'll sound closer to like old school punk and the At The Drive-In and Thursday instead of the Bouncing Souls or Ultimate Fakebook or the usual punk stuff.

punk? ... all you gotta do is play a three power chord progression over and over again. palm mute the verse and crank up the distortion for the chorus. then you gotta make up vocals that dis the government or about parties and being drunk. thats about it.
