hi
i have downloaded audacity, its great and free as well. all i need now is a microphone that can got to my computer and i was wondering what type of microphone to use and does it need to be special to go to a computer. im pretty sure that recording my practicings will help me improve.

Nope, just any old thing will work better than going directly into your computer. If you are willing to spend some cash on a pretty good mic, consider a Shure SM57 or SM58. They are pretty much the industy standard recording mics, and will record both amps and vocals very well.


But a $5 cheapy from Wal-Mart will work.
