yeah download and install the free version of music match jukebox. you can find it from www.musicmatch.com

then open the program and click "file" then "Convert files".

You can use that.

Or try some others.

http://www.mp3towav.net/
http://www.americanshareware.com/
www.mp3-converter.com

There are countless more. Just google search "wav to mp3 converter" and it should pull up a lot of options.

The best way though to me (since I use winamp all the time) would be to search winamp's plugins for a converter.

I use musicmatch converter myself... but I get some very compressed tone out of it. not sure if that's an issue with mp3's or not. I seem to drop a huge portion of the low end definition and the highs become very brittle in tone. I still record onto tape (for play back) and into the PC, once I listen to the tape and listen to the PC, I have a very different tone on the PC... in a bad way.

I might just be too darn picky....

You probably have enough now, but I also have this imTOO Audio encoder, its a trial, but the only catch is that you can't convert more than five songs in a "session." So its basically unlimited, unless you have a hard drive full of wave files and want to convert them all at once or something ;) .

Didn't even know musicmatch had an encoder, but I hate musicmatch, cause it always steals the default player settings for every freaking file type from my precious Windows Media Player every time I try to open a file :p . The real problem with it is that it takes way longer to load on my slow computer than WMP, and it keeps automatically setting itself as default, no matter how many times I manually change the settings :annoyed: .

trial of music match only converts 30 sec of the song
