Godsmack solo effects

i was wondering if anyone knew how or what effect godsmacks lead guitarist uses when he plays his solos. is it a pedal or just regular playing? ive been told its a pedal yet ive seen live concerts and havent spotted it.

the lead guitarist is the rythym guitarist ... there's only one of them. i know he uses overdrive and some major wah.
