Hey Shawn!
Since I'm a big Metallica fan (atleast a fan of old Metallica, nowadays they should be referred to SellouticA, and not MetallicA) I just wondered if it's possible for you to videorecord some more Hammett/Metallica riffs? I've actally got some suggestions for you too ;). What about one of the main riffs to Master Of Puppets? It goes something like this:

A think this could be a very useful riff to learn, since you have to play it fast to make it sound right, and you're using all your fingers when you play it, and it involves two strings. What is really cool about this riff is that James Hetfield plays it with downstrokes ONLY, which I think is really cool. The very same song also has a very very good solo, which I think would suit excellent on your great tricks&licks page. Talking about Metallica, we must not forget their (in my opinion) best song, One. This song has two very good solos, and the first one is not to hard to play either (except the very last part of it ;) ) and I think that solo would suit great on your page. :D And their song "To Live Is To Die" has one of the best intros I've ever heard. Maybe that's something for you Shawn? ;) Okay, just some tips from me. Rock on! And I love this site. It's great.

Thanks for the suggestions. Though I have a lot more guitarists that I want to hit in the Licks & Tricks section before I hit round #2 on the guitarists that are already there.

The main idea behind the Licks & Tricks section is to take licks from different guitar player's solos, and explain a little bit of the theory behind them......and how they could be used in your own solos. Doing the riffs of songs is not the direction I want to go with this. And besides that, Lars would be after me and shut the site down :)

But I will consider the solos that you have suggested as possible sources for more licks from Kirk Hammett.

I am really hoping to crank out a some more licks for that section in the coming month, so stay tuned.
