I see many threads made about people having trouble fretting the notes, or having trouble with speed, or getting tired, or accuracy, or whatever else you can think of. This specific excersise is great for building up all of those and improving your playing overall.

etc... you can do that all the way up the fretboard. Once you have that down you can then do some variations of it like 1342, 1243, 1324, 1432, 1423, or whatever else you can think of. Now this may not be the most fun excersise but believe me if you stick with this and use this your speed, acuracy, endurence, and strengh will all greatly improve.

Doing these exercises daily for at least 20 minutes since the day I started playing has helped me alot with alternate picking really fast and accurately.

i strongly suggest playing with a metronome start out on slow tempos and gradually move up and you can pick with differnt timings too

lol...1234 excersize. Its a called a chromatic scale.

It's not a chromatic scale. A chromatic scale looks like this:

as long as you hit all possible twelve notes than its a chromatic scale

A chromatic scale has to have an interval of a semitone between each note

your not hitting all 12 notes per octave at all. wit the 1234 excersize

oh yeah i was wrong but if youre doing a 1234 excersise and you hit all the frets all the way down to 12 wouldnt you be hitting all the notes?
